Time to look back at some news stories I’ve talked about and see where they are now.
- The Guardian: Neil Gaiman asks US court to dismiss lawsuit alleging rape and sexual assault. He’s going to deny everything and try to brazen it out.
- Fort Worth Report: No charges against Fort Worth museum after allegations that exhibit included child porn. This is the Sally Mann photos that were seized several months ago. Quelle surprise: there’s nothing to this controversy ginned up by the Dallas Express.
- Texas Observer: Pastor’s Admitted Child Sex Abuse Roils Hotbed of Christian Nationalism. This is Robert Morris, of Gateway, and Steven Monacelli reads his Christian nationalist cronies the riot act on it.
- DMN: Will Robert Morris child abuse charges stick? Lawyers say statute of limitations is key. Legal strategy questions from the Gateway molestation case.
- Related, from the DMN: Current, former Gateway members react to church founder’s indictment on child sex charges. Really disappointing how some people are waiting for a conviction on these charges to care about what he’s admitted he did.
- The Guardian: Analysis: The Signal chat leak raises questions about accountability in Trump’s cabinet. There is none, but we knew that.
- DMN: Judge rules Gateway Church tithe fraud suit won’t go to discovery, at least for now. This is the other sword hanging over Gateway’s head: they may have been lying about where they put their tithe money.
- Fort Worth Report: Second ex-Gateway Church leader dropped from lawsuit alleging misuse of tithes. This was a few days earlier than the DMN article, but it’s the same lawsuit.
